Weather can affect this plan and more climbing might be done in and around Reykjavik. If we are staying at Hnappavellir, the plan is to have one tourist day, Wednesday, where we will also be going for swimming and showering. There are no showers at Hnappavellir.

Climbing

The main climbing area will be in Hnappavellir which has over 120 bolted routes and a lot of boulder. The camping place is just few meters from the cliffs. Hnappavellir offers routes from 5.5 – 5.13d so everyone should find something that fits.
Newly invented climbing area in Vestrahorn might be visited, some 100 km east of Hnappavellir. Vestrahorn offers fantastic boulder possibilities.

Weather could alter this plan, so therefore we might be climbing a part of the week or the whole week closer to Reykjavík, indoor and/or outdoor bouldering.

Our guides around the cliffs and boulders will be some of the best Icelandic climbers.

Climbing
equipment

All teams must bring their own climbing equipment. Everyone must wear helmets while climbing. 1rope + 10 quickdraws/2 climbers, Everyone: Helmet, harness, shoes, chalk, daisychain + carabiner, ATC+ carabine.

Camp and
other equipment

During our stay at Hnappavellir we will be staying in a tent camp. Iceland will provide tents for all the teams and a large kitchen tent. Everyone needs to bring a sleeping bag etc. As the camp is not far away from the Vatnajokull glacier, it can be cold in the evenings and during the day and at times windy. Therefore bring with you warm clothes, rain clothes, hats and gloves. Toilet facilities are not modern at Hnappavellir to say the least.
